To help make your stay at Vintage Porch enjoyable, here are the answers to a few Frequently Asked Questions. Other questions may be directed to Brian or Carrie at info@VintagePorch.com.
Q: What time is check-in and check-out at Vintage Porch?
A: Check-in is 10:00am; check-out is 5:00pm. Times are flexible.
Q: Do you allow guests other than scrapbookers?
A: Absolutely! Although the house has been targeted towards scrapbookers, any crafting / gathering group is welcome. Shakopee offers something for everyone. Browse the Shakopee Visitor website (www.shakopee.org) for recreation outside of VP.
Q: How much space is there for each person to work?
A: There are 12 workstations each with 12 sq ft of workspace (4 ft wide x 3 ft deep); complete with overhead task lighting and ergonomic adjustable office chair. There are three different chair styles.
Q: What tools are available to use at the Vintage Porch?
A: There are many items including a personal computer, printer and Sizzix Machine. See our Crafting page for a detailed list of tools and other supplies available to you.
Q: What are the sleeping accommodations?
A: There are 5 bedrooms. Since our retreat consists of up to 12 scrapbookers, you will be able to decide the best arrangements for your group. We have 5 full size beds, 5 twins and one bunk bed. There are 3.5 bathrooms. NEW! We now have separate beds for each guest!
Q: Do I need to bring bedding / linens?
A: Each bed is made up with fresh, clean cotton sheets, quilt and a pillow. Guests will need to bring their own bath towel.
Q: What dishes / cooking utensils does VP have?
A: Stoneware and silverware for 12 people, blender, coffee maker, crockpot, electric griddle, pots / pans and toaster.
Q: Is there a radio?
A: Yes. There is a AM/FM radio, CD player and plug-in to play your IPOD/MP3 music.
Q: What are dining options for the weekend?
A: Your group is welcome to bring meals for the weekend. The kitchen will have everything you need to prepare your meals. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and cooking essentials. In addition - there is a sink and refrigerator in the craft room. There are many options for dining out or catering in. Find information on Shakopee restaurants and catering services on the Shakopee Visitor website (www.shakopee.org).
Q: How much parking is on site?
A: There are several options for parking:
• 4 spaces on the driveway
• Street subject to odd/even parking rules from 11/1 to 3/31. On even number days of the month parking is allowed on the even numbered side of the street from 2:00am to 6:00am. VP is even.
• Public lot adjacent to VP (you can unload your supplies and park in the lot for the weekend)
Q: How about smoking and pets?
A: Smoking is not allowed inside VP. You may smoke outside on the front or back porch. There is a container with sand to safely deposit cigarette butts in both areas. We do not allow pets on the property for the benefit of the house and your fellow guests.
Q: What else is there to do in Shakopee?
A: Shakopee offers many options if you want a break from your craft or gathering. For more detailed information visit the Shakopee Visitor website (www.shakopee.org).
Q: What if we don’t have a group of 8-12?
A: If you as your Group Coordinator / Renter need assistance rounding out your group, we can help you. Contact us to see if there are others who may be interested in joining your weekend and / or discuss other stay options.
Q: Do you have internet access?
A: Yes! There is a PC available with internet. Wi-Fi is also available throughout the house.
Q: What is the phone number at Vintage Porch?
A: There is not a land line phone available at VP. Guests will need to utilize their cell phones. In an emergency situation your family and friends can also contact the VP owners:

Q: What types of items do I need to bring?
A: Item you should bring along with you include:
• Bath Towel; Blanket (if you feel that you would like something in addition to a sheet and quilt)
• Crafting / Gathering supplies / Personal items
• Food / Beverage / Condiments / Paper products (if needed): Paper cups, Plates, etc...)
